AREAS OF CLINICAL INTEREST
Alyssa has experience working with people from all backgrounds and demographics. Some of the people Alyssa works with are teens, young adults, adults and seniors. Alyssa specializes in the treatment of trauma, anxiety, and depression. She utilizes a trauma- informed approach which helps clients understand and acknowledge the role trauma has had on their thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and relationships. She understands that people are different and need individualized care and understanding. She promotes self-worth, empowerment, compassion, and curiosity in a person’s growth and healing.
She believes all our stories are different and unique, but the thread of life is through being seen, heard, understood, and a need for belonging. Pain is inevitable but suffering does not have to be so. Alyssa provides a space filled with education, encouragement, and self-discovery. She believes in humanity and the need for connection and community. No one should face hardships, external and internal, alone. From the words of Dr. Bruce Perry, “Relationships matter: the currency for systemic change is trust, and trust comes through forming healthy working relationships. People, not programs, change people.”
