HOBBIES AND INTERESTS
Raised in the Smokey Mountains, Ms. Sisk enjoys hiking and spending time in nature. She cherishes time with family and friends. Other interests include writing, music and tending to her menagerie of dogs, chickens and honeybees.

TRAINING AND CREDENTIALS
Kathleen Sisk, MSN-PMHNP-BC, received a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from UNC-Chapel Hill. She worked at the N.C. Jaycee Burn Center then as a traveling nurse in various intensive care units (ICU) including respiratory, trauma, neurosurgical and cardio-thoracic care. She returned to North Carolina for a position in the Medicine ICU at UNC Healthcare, where she had a particular focus on mentorship of nurses new to critical care and the development of continuing education content. In 2008, she was honored by her colleagues with a Nurse of the Year Award. Subsequently, she returned to school to study psychiatry and received Master of Science and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner degrees from the UNC-Chapel Hill School of Nursing.
AREAS OF CLINICAL INTEREST
Ms. Sisk enjoys caring for patients across the life-span. Although she treats a broad range of mental health issues, she has a particular interest in the care of childhood mood disorders and complicated ADHD as well as adulthood bipolar disorder. She is also involved in research and has worked on clinical trials for depression and schizophrenia. Still with a strong commitment to education, Ms. Sisk mentors psychiatric nurse practitioner students and is a guest lecturer on child psychopharmacology for the UNC psychology-nurse practitioner program.
